The Law Society
The Law Society is the professional body that supports, represents and advocates on behalf of solicitors in England and Wales. The organisation also provides solicitors with resources, training and advice on both legal and ethical issues.
The Law Society is currently exploring the ethical implications of legal outsourcing.
The Solicitors Regulation Authority
The Solicitors Regulation Authority is the independent regulatory body for solicitors in England and Wales purposed, “[t]o set, promote and secure in the public interest standards of behaviour and professional performance necessary to ensure that clients receive a good service and that the rule of law is upheld.” Additional objectives of the SRA include, setting professional standards, supporting and monitoring solicitors, protecting consumers, and promoting access to justice.
The Solicitors Regulation Authority (“SRA”) has recently issued its first public statement on the use of legal outsourcing for UK solicitors.
